Interior Designer – FT position
Full-service Interior Design Firm (www.kimberleyharrison.com) is looking for a mature, professional, organized and self-motivated Interior Designer who has 5-7 years minimum of residential design experience. Candidate must be strong at multi-tasking, organized, energetic, eager to learn, cheerful, and also be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The Designer will contribute to the success of the firm by taking design direction from the Principal and then completing all aspects of design development, sourcing, meeting preparation and technical drawings for their assigned projects. Candidate should be able to work within existing systems and help create new systems for continued success. Must be adaptable and able to successfully function with lots of balls in the air!
Requirements:
Degree in interior design
5-7 years of residential design experience
Must be visionary, creative and design savvy
Must be able to manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, rendering skills is a plus
Highly proficient in AutoCad with 3-5 years experience – ability to develop accurate as-builts, scaled furniture plans and elevations to industry standards.
Proficient in space planning of kitchen, baths and furniture layout
Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook- must be prompt and utilize strong communication skills when responding to client/vendor emails
Skilled at navigating the SF Design Center including showrooms, obtaining pricing, reserves, also must have knowledge of other trade resources and vendors.
Extensive experience sourcing and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials, finishes and kitchen and bath plumbing fixtures.
Manage quotes, proposals and budgets
Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
Ability to multi-task; meet deadlines and help grow the firm
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Must have valid driver’s license and insurance with reliable vehicle
Have a positive, friendly, professional attitude and a good sense of humor
Responsibilities:
Independently create full design concepts for projects based on Principal’s design vision
General research and all sourcing required per project
Prepare for client presentations by creating inspiration boards, floor plans, furniture drawings and elevations.
Follow up with vendors on lead times and quotes
Research new products and materials
Type up and organize meeting notes, project status, deliverables, etc. in Basecamp
Maintain organized client binders and files in Basecamp
Fluent in reading architectural plans and producing scaled sketches, as-builts, floor plans and room layouts.
